Karl
practices

the
Danville
office
where
he
is
the
partner
in
charge
of
the
firm’s
accounting
and
auditing
practice.
His
past
experience
as
an
audit
manager
with
Ernst
&
Ernst
and
managing
its
Rio
de
Janeiro
office
provided
him
with
the
valuable
management
skill
currently
appreciated
by
the
JHS
managers
and
staff
that
assist
him.
Karl’s
prior
international
firm
experience
in
banking,
manufacturing
and
service
oriented
industries
as
well
as
temporary
controllership
for
a
residential
contractor
client
has
provided
him
with
a
broad
array
of
audit
and
business
management
skills
which
benefit
his
JHS
clients.
Although
primarily
serving
construction
contractors,
Karl
also
provides
accounting
and
tax
services
to
manufacturing
and
auto
dealership
clients
as
well
as
high
net
worth
individuals
and
estates
and
trusts.
Karl
has
been
retained
and
testified
as
an
expert
witness
with
respect
to
accounting
matters
and
economic
damages
and
has
frequently
consulted
with
contractors’
owners
and
sureties
on
construction
claims.
He
is
a
member
of
the
American
Institute
of
Certified
Public
Accountants
and
the
California
Society
of
Certified
Public
Accountants
and
active
with
Northern
California
construction
industry
trade
associations
including
CFMA,
EUCA
and
AGC.
He
is
also
past
president
of
the
Surety
Association
of
Northern
California.
Karl
has
been
a
frequent
lecturer
on
construction
accounting
topics
and
has
presented
a
series
of
seminars
to
surety
broker
organizations
and
companies.
Karl
served
in
the
US
Army
prior
to
starting
his
career
as
a
CPA.
He
graduated
in
the
top
5%
of
his
class
when
he
obtained
his
Bachelor
of
Arts
degree
from
San
Francisco
State
University.
