Tom’s ability to immediately size up a situation, regardless of how complicated it might be, assess the options and define a path forward was first honed during his time as an Army Lieutenant in the 101st Airborne Division. Tom, an armor officer, was a Civil Affairs officer in Vietnam.
Upon discharge he was attracted to the power and mystery of the sea. Water became an obsession and Tom became an accomplished sailor and took up scuba diving and became a committed Parrot Head and boasts the largest collection of Jimmy Buffet music and pirate shirts in the CPA community.
Tom believes the complexity of financial and audit statements represents the same challenges and provides the same excitement as sailing.Tom realized he was engaged in a life long commitment to use both his left and right brain.
Tom began his accounting career at JHS in 1978, and was managing partner of JHS for 13 years.
